#13

Twiggy, born as Lesley Hornby began modeling at age 15. Her small figure gave her the name twigs and she was then on known as twiggy. Her short hair cut, huge eyes, false eye lashed,  sculpted jaw line and end less legs were on every magazine cover such as Vogue and tatler. She was always dressed to the latest fashions. Later on in life she also turned to singing and acting. She proved herself a successful actress in television, film and stage. The model, actress, singer, and author is also a humanitarian. She is a supporter of breast cancer research groups, animal welfare and is a fervent anti fur campaigner.

“It’s not what you’d call a figure, is it?” [Referring to her own thin frame]

“I’m lumbered with the name Twiggy really. There was a point a few years back when I thought I’d stop using it and be Lesley Lawson. But every time I was written about, it would be ‘Lesley Lawson, otherwise known as Twiggy’. So my husband quite rightly told me to stop worrying about it.”

“I didn’t really know about Marilyn Manson – it’s not my sort of music, not exactly the sort of thing I would curl up and listen to!”
